the show, videos, and other tomfoolery
well i had an interesting show last saturday at farmer's market, i didn't really tell anyone about it because i didn't know what to expect, there's a blog about it here, if you're interested. it was...well, interesting :)
i've finished (just about) putting up video from our shepherd's table show, and they're really good quality in my opinion, check em out if you missed the show or just can't get enough of us :P check this one out!
well i think that's about it for now. i'm entered in the local songwriter's competition this sunday which should be a lot of fun, but other than that i actually don't have many. i'm in a songwriter's showcase on may 13th and i think i'll have more farmer's shows coming up, but i'm taking it a little easy on shows for the next few months to work on the cd, i really really wanna get this done as soon as possible. so stay tuned for news on that as well as new show dates as i get them, and thanks a lot for reading!
later everyone :)

the fool on the hill
so tomorrow i've got an early morning show! any early risers out there lookin' to head to the beach? pismo is starting their very own farmer's market and it's from nine in the morning to one in the afternoon on saturdays at the dinosaur caves park. last week was their first! anyway, one of the people putting it on saw me at the farmer's here in slo and asked if i'd like to play, and i said of course! so i'll be there bright and early, it's a four hour show (9 - 1) so there's plenty of time for you to sleep in and still catch some of the show :) i've never played so early and usually my voice is subpar in the morning, so i'm a little concerned, but it should still be really fun, especially being out at the beach, the weather's supposed to be great this weekend! whew, ok, well i'm really excited about this show, and i'll be bringing lots of cd's and playing a really long set, and i love the beach. i hope to see you guys there!
to sum up the details : tomorrow, Saturday April 26th, 9am to 1pm at the dinosaur caves park in pismo beach (check out the shows section for a map). thanks!
also, we've got about twn new videos up on the youtube, with a few more still to come, and some of them are from our recent songwriter's showcase at shepherd's table with the full band! these turned out really good, i highly recommend checking them out :) here's a sample!
thanks a lot everyone, see you soon!

you guys, you shouldn't have
wow, if you weren't at the show at shepherd's table then you missed out! first off, the turnout was phenomenal, thanks so much to steve key for getting info into the local papers and e-mailing about it to everyone, and hopefully my promotion helped a little bit (i know i brought at least six people, haha). it's a really really great matchup, the venue of shepherd's table with the kind of music you get at a songwriter's showcase, there's that separate area in the back for people who like to talk and there's tons of seating and SO many people were so great about bringing refreshments, ugh, i can't get over how great it worked out.
it was great playing the featured set, especially since we got to play together for only the third or fourth time in public. i really think all our rehearsal payed off and we played a great show, but what really made the night for me was the other performers. i got to specially request a few, and steve and joe did NOT disappoint. deborah and sierra i've heard before and they were great as usual, and cody and jared of the band juicebox i had not heard of before the night were really really good! very mellow, mature, folk rock type music, i loved both of their sets.
well, i could go on, but basically i had a great time, i hope you guys had a great time, and i hope we get to host a songwriter's showcase there again soon!
ok, now i wanted to do some special thanks to people who came out to hear us that night, especially carol (a.k.a. dotish from thesixtyone.com) who found me online and just happened to be visiting from san jose and made the time to stop by and listen, that was awesome! special thanks too to meadow who saw me at farmer's a few weeks ago and joined the mailing list, came to the show and even brought a friend (thanks for coming holly!). it was great to see lisa too, i really hope you're still liking the new songs and what we're doing with old stuff, thanks so much for still making the effort to come out, and always bringing other people too :)
cody and jared put on a great set and rounded out the night, summer did a ton of work getting the space ready and rodney bailed us out big time with the sound system, we would not have had nearly as good a night without any of you guys! laurene for contacting me about steve key and everyone who calls the shots at shepherd's table (my church, i might add) for the idea and for making it happen. if there's anyone i'm forgetting, i'm so sorry, but you guys are awesome and you made the night as good as it was!
whew, ok, lastly, i'm finally getting video up from the last farmer's show, as well as our night at shepherd's table, so go ahead and check out the youtube account for some of those.
here's one to tease you :P
thanks again everyone, thanks for reading!

you like me, you really like me!
hey, just wanted to let you guys know that the demo of my new song "waiting" made it to the front page of thesixtyone.com, a music promotion and discovery site. if you haven't been there you should check it out, it's a great way to find indie artists and some big names are on there too. my song's just two spots under the new single from chris walla (guitar player for death cab for cutie). thanks for reading, later!

...waiting...
hey guess what. a new song is up! well, a demo of a new song. it's called "waiting" (i know, uninspired, right? it was really hard to come up with a name, so go easy :P ) and it's up in our downloads section, and the lyrics are up in the music & lyrics section! like i said it's just a demo right now, just try to imagine matt's wicked beats and dan's beautifully melodic basslines and some rockin' electric guitar courtesy of yours truly. it'll probably sound better in your head than it really will once we finish it :)
so that's the big news for now, but i also wanted to remind everyone about our show on the nineteenth of april, it's only a week and a day away now! it's at shepherd's tbale at seven pm and details are in the shows section! there's also info about the two shell beach farmer's market dates coming up, so check it out.
that's all i got for now, we're rehearsing like crazy and recording every chance we get, thanks to everyone for the continued support, and hope to see you soon!

farmer's farmer's bo barmer's
WOW last night's show was cool!
thanks a lot to you guys who came to see me, and to those of you first timer's who just bought the cd! the crowd was so fun and energetic, especially later when more people were out. thanks a lot!
i also wanted to take a second to say hi to a few people who i saw there that i haven't seen in a long time, like amber and tyler and jason's friends and timmy hurlihey, lindsey, amanda, that guy from pete's pierside who plays the funny songs, and caitlin, and a lot of other people! it was weird but really fun to see so many familiar faces, thanks for listenin guys! thanks to zane for talking to me after the show, it was great to meet you and i'm sorry i couldn't make it to your show at DTB, hope it went great! thanks also to the few people who took pictures with me both during and after the show, and to the bunny lady (you know who you are).
anyway, i sold forty cd's, and that is really encouraging to me. i also tried to spread the word about the show on the 19th (at Shepherd's Table, 151 North 7th Street Grover Beach at 6:30) so hopefully some people will come out there too.
whew, anyway, i just wanted to say thanks a lot. we're recording this saturday and hopefully i'll have a demo of the new song to put up here, and very very soon now we should have videos and pics from both farmer's shows.
thanks everyone!
