much ado
the show at farmer's market last night was simply amazing. it was freezing cold but there were still so many people out i was surprised! a lot of people stopped to listen and that was so encouraging and so much fun. i brought something like fifteen cd's, all of which sold out in the first hour, and a ton of other people got the url for the website (by the way, if this is your first time here, welcome! and thanks so much for stopping by, hope you like the music!)
anyway, i had an incredible time, and i got two more dates at farmer's coming up next year, i'll have the details up in the shows section as soon as i can, but for now i'll let you know that it's going to be on chorro street on january 24th, and on broad street on march 20th. i'm really looking forward to these and i hope a lot of you can stop by again :)
on a slightly sadder note...i realized on my way home last night that i sold someone an empty cd case when they thought they were buying one of my cd's...i had taken it out of the case so i could listen to the songs on my car radio before the show to warm up, and i forgot to put it back before i set the cd's on display for sale....i don't know if you'll be able to find the website, whoever you are, but i'm so SO sorry about that, i feel horrible...the good news is you can download all the songs right here on the website in the downloads section, and if you do manage to get a hold of me or see me at a show, i promise i'll reimburse you and give you a cd!!!

show aftermath and show reminder!
so last saturday was the santa maria show, and it was a really really fun show. the coffee shop is bigger now than i remembered it, and it was absolutely packed for the majority of the night. i think part of that may have had to do with this news article in the santa maria sun about us. it was really fun doing the interview and it's weird how different the quotes sound to me when i read them than they did when i said them.
also, don't forget that this thursday on chorro street i'm gonna be playing for two hours starting at 6:30 out at the san luis obispo farmer's market! it's gonna be cold but hopefully not too cold, and it should be pretty fun, so stop on by :)

show reminder, new song up
so i've got a show tomorrow in santa maria for those of you fans a little south of san luis, i'll be joining steve key and two other talented singer songwriters (deborah kirk and gary foshee) from 7 to 9 at the hunter's langing coffee shop in the walmart shopping center. if you're in the area and lookin' for some music then stop in :)

had some shows, played some songs
so december's been a good month so far. finally wrote a new song, had two shows so far, with two more lined up. won the "best song" award from the westcoast songwriter's association, and i've uploaded something like twenty new videos to our youtube account.the new song will be recorded and online soon, i promise! video of it will be up later today or tomorrow. the show last friday at linnaea's was a really fun show, not as money people who i knew came as last time, but a lot of strangers showed up and decided to hang around for most or all of the set, which was really encouraging. i met some new friends and sold some cd's and had an overall really enjoyable time. thanks to everyone who came and listened, i hope to see you again!
the next show is next saturday, the 15th in santa maria at hunter's landing, and after that i'm playing on thursday the 20th at the san luis obispo farmer's market.

2 for 3
which i guess isn't that bad of an average, even if i am a little disappointed. i guess i should explain, i've entered the westcoast songwriter's competition hosted monthly at linnaea's three times now. my first time i failed to win any awards, the second try i was awarded 'best performance', which is really more of a consolation prize. this sunday however, i won 'best song', the first place award, which comes with two free hours of free recording time in a professional studio and gets me entered in a bigger songwriter's competition next year. it was really cool getting all the positive feedback from the judges and the audience, really encouraging as well. i was also able to promote upcoming shows a little bit and meet some new people, which is always fun.speaking of upcoming shows, this weekend is a good one to see me play if you're interested in that sort of thing. i'm at linnaea's on friday night from 8 to 10 and the next night i'll be at frog and peach on the back patio from 9-ish to 10:30-ish. last weekend it didn't really start to pick up until right around ten thirty, so if that happens again this week i think i might just keep playing a little longer and hope i don't get in trouble, hehe.
