our summer skin

hi

we had a really fun show at the clubhouse on tuesday night, it was the whole band and we played the featured set for the showcase. everyone else who played was awesome, there were a few i'd never seen before too like angela white and alex miner. i honestly felt that we performed pretty well, matt and dan were flawless and we'd only practiced the songs once! i think my voice was a little off and i started some songs on slightly wrong tempos, but people were paying attention and there was a really awesome turnout, everything just came together to make it a really really great show. thanks so much again to all of our friends who came out, it was great to see you!

whew. well we're ten days away from our self imposed deadline of August 10th for the recording, and I'm still hopefull we'll be able to do it. we're meeting tonight to wrap up a few loose ends as far as recording goes, and the mixing is more than halfway done on a lot of the songs. album art is progressing well too. i hope you guys are still looking forward to this as much as i am, it's gonna be so cool to have an album!

anyway, we've also got some really coming up in the near future, then kind of a break, and then september is full to the brim with awesome shows. check em out!

like a rootless tree

lots of shows coming up!

i'm opening for buddy mondlock this friday, i'm only playing for twenty minutes starting at seven, but buddy mondlock's great and he'll go till nine (maybe ten?). tickets are 15$.
that's gonna be at shepherd's table, July 25th, 7 pm 151 north 7th street, grover beach.

saturday night i'm in santa maria with ish moreno from chicago! this show starts at 9 and goes till 1 in the morning, we're alternating every hour on the hour, so anytime you wanna show up you're likely to catch us both!
that's at the 3rd coast cafe, 323 town center west, santa maria 9pm to 1am

lastly, me and the band are gonna be at the clubhouse this tuesday night for the songwriter's showcase, we're the featured act! that means that at about 7:30 we'll be playing a forty five minmute set.
that one's from 6:30 to 9:30 at the clubhouse, 740 west foothill blvd. san luis obispo.

hope you can make it to a show, i'm really excited about all three!

buried by the buzz

hey everyone!

just wanted to keep the site updated (like i said i would) with news about the CD! spare time is rare, but we've been putting as much as we can into recording and we're making great progress. all of the songs are at least to what i'd call a halfway point, with a whole bunch needing nothing but a re-master. things are really really starting to sound good, and looking at our deadline doesn't make me panic quite so much as it did before, i think we're actually gonna make it!

there's also a ton of new shows up in the show section if you're interested, most are later in the year, seeing as how we need as much time as we can this and next month to get the cd done. it's a pretty exciting time, and i want to let you guys know how much i appreciate your patience and just the fact that you like our music. it wouldn't be as much fun if no one listened, so thanks for making this a cool experience!

don't forget to download while you still can, we're not sure exactly what the details will be, but we're gonna be taking down some (if not all) of the free downloads once our cd launches! sorry...but them's the breaks!

welcome home

so you've all probably heard that our completion date for the cd is august 10th (though there's a little safety leeway built in there, we're not planning on releasing until September) and i wanted to give you an update! we've got about half of the songs to the point where they just need to be mastered and they're good to go, the other half are very near completion, mostly with just little parts here and there that need to be added in or fixed up. one song needs to be done completely from scratch, but just the one! i'm really really excited to see the list of things to do keep getting smaller with all the time we're putting into this cd. i really hope it turns out great and that you guys love it!

i'm not sure if i'm gonna reveal the song lineup until we release the cd, but i can tell you that we've decided on a name and started on the artwork! I'll try and keep you as updated on the process as i can here on the site, but not much will be getting done this coming weekend.

i also want to take a second to remind you about some really exciting shows coming up this month. two full on concerts coming up, first is on the 26th down in santa maria with ish moreno (from chicago). there's a ten dollar cover and we'll be playing a split bill at the 3rd coast cafe from 9pm to 1am. not sure who's going on first, details to follow! the other concert is going to be really great, the whole band will be featured at the songwriter's showcase at the clubhouse on july29th! show starts at six thirty and our forty five minute set will begin around 7:30! hope you can make it :) i'll also be playing the songwriter's showcase at shepherd's table on the 19th of this month, and opening for buddy mondlock at the same venue for his concert there on the 25th (tickets are 15$), both of those start at 7 pm!
