busy busy
hey everyone!
this first week of april coming up is going to be quite a busy one for me as far as music goes. i was just reminded (sorry for the late notice!) that i'll be playing this tuesday at the songwriter's showcase at the clubhouse. i'm one of the later performers this time, but the show starts at 6:30 and the other performers are SO worth seeing, so come as early as you can :) i'll be on around 8:45. that show's tuesday april 1st. on thursday april 3rd i'll be at farmer's market again, this time on chorro street, from 6:30 to 8:30. the farmer's market shows have been the ones where the most new people hear my music, and so they're really exciting. i hope to see some of you guys there! and hey, last time a drunk guy came up and air guitared with me during sound of silence, so it should be humorous too! lastly, on saturday i'll be playing at linnaea's cafe. i'm only doing a half hour opening set for a woman named Christine Havrilla who's on tour from philadelphia. that show's on saturday april 5th at linnaea's and it starts at 8!
whew, so beyond next week we've still got the songwriter's showcase at shepherd's table on april 19th that i'm super excited about, that's gonna be the full band playing the featured 45 minute set! and it may even lead to some more regular shows at the venue too, lots of potential there and i hope you can make it!

it's a sunny day
hey everybody, it's easter, yay! well, it's twelve thirty on sunday morning, so technically it's easter. anyway.
the show at farmer's was a blast! thank you so much to everybody who came, it was great to see so many familiar faces! and thanks also to all the new people who stopped to listen, bought cd's, talked to me, took business cards, or just listened for a song or two :) it was really just such an encouraging night and just plain fun. i sold over thirty cd's and all of my business cards with the website on them were taken, so there should be lots of new people checking the site out for the first time soon!
well, i could go on about how i met some people who've been fans since my last show at farmers or about how i gave out my first autograph or how some creepy person keeps leaving a single playing card in my guitar case as a tip (it was a queen of diamonds this time!) but i think that'd probably bore you, so i won't.
instead i'll just say thanks one more time, because if i was just out there playing by myself it wouldn't be any fun at all, actually it'd be pretty depressing, haha. you guys make it worth it to keep playing out!
in other news, i've got a new song, a demo is recorded but i wanna finesse it just a tidbit before putting it online. i'll let you know as soon as it's up! also, lots of video from thursday night's show will be making it's way onto the youtube in the coming weeks, so be sure to subscribe!

p.s. i wanna give a special thank you/shout out to evangele (hope i'm spelling it right!) because we bumped into each other at avila and he came out to farmer's to hear me, which is something like the fourth time he's seen me play. thanks a lot man! i appreciate it, and every time you come i feel horrible because i'm usually in the middle of a song when you have to leave so i don't even get to say thanks for coming! so hey, thanks for coming :)

gonna get what you deserve
hey all! i'm playing tonight at farmer's market! ok, well if you haven't passed out now from sheer excitement then i hope to see you there :) the weather looks perfect and it should be a lot of fun. i'll be on broad street from 6:30 to 8:30. there'll be cd's for sale and this time i personally tested every single disc so there'll be no duds! i hope to see you there, later!

p.s. i've had a few extremely generous people ask me if they could donate money to the band for our music, and at first i was really touched but i didn't feel right about it. now i realize that if people want to donate they can, and there's absolutely zero obligation to if they don't want to, so there's really no reason to feel bad about it. so i went ahead and added a donations button to the site! it's that little orange button above the news and below the e-mail signup that says "donate". if you wanna use it, go ahead! if not, no one here'll be upset. thanks a lot!

one week from today
hey everyone, i have a show next week!one week from today, thursday, march 20th, i'll be playing farmer's market from 6:30 to 8:30. this time i'm on broad street (was on chorro last time). the last show was really fun, tons of people stopped to listen, but it was ridiculously cold. the weather's been great the past couple weeks so this upcoming show should be even better! cd's will be available, hope to see you there!

other than that, i thought i'd mention that i now have two videos on youtube with over two thousand views, which is exciting to me :) the two videos in question are the trapeze swinger and brothers on a hotel bed. five others have over a thousand, and i've got about seventy subscribers now! haha, i guess there's really no point in letting you all know that, it just makes me happy.

little updates
hey everybody!
the band is meeting to record today, we're gonna be finishing up some stuff jaime added to and doing some more work on some new songs, it should be really fun! if we get anything done i'll put it up here as soon as i can.
i also wanted to let you all know that i got asked to play at this tuesday's songwriter's showcase at the clubhouse in slo (details in the shows section) and it should be a really fun night, i'd love to see you there!
lastly, i got a new video up on youtube, just in case you're interested, i'll go ahead and post it here :)

hey everyone,
loren here, i just wanted to say that the show last night was really fun, and i also wanted to say a special thank you (huge thank you!) to everyone who came out. really, i love new people hearing my music but it means so much to me when people make an effort especially to come hear me play. whether i've known you for years or you just heard about our music last week, i really really appreciate you guys and i want you to know that!
that's just about all i've got, thanks guys for supporting us and our music whether it's online, in e-mails or at shows or whatever! thanks so much and hope to see you soon :)
